In the first session Kathie will begin by gaining your fully informed consent, making sure you are clear on processes, policies, and your privacy. The first session is thus a lot of information gathering, before you and Kathie agree on goals for the ongoing sessions. It is very important to Kathie that you make the most of your sessions and that you are both on the same page with expectations.

It is completely normal to feel anxious the first time you see a psychologist, so Kathie will be mindful of creating a warm, supportive and judgement free space for you.

The number of sessions needed varies from person to person and depending upon presenting issues and life circumstances. It is something that you can communicate with Kathie about openly and on an ongoing basis.
